In Lamont vs. Lieberman, Top Dems Choose Democracy
Has anyone else noticed the accidental farce behind stories like the Washinton Post's "Democratic Leadership Welcomes Lamont" and the New York Times' "Day After Win, Lamont Gets Strong Support from Leaders"?Let me get this straight: Registered Democratic voters in Connecticut chose Ned Lamont as their representative in a primary election over Joe Lieberman, and the news of the day is that Democratic leaders will support the winner, rather than the loser, of that election. You mean, political leaders are supporting the will of voters rather than backing a powerful, wealthy, and well-connected friend?
Come to think of it, maybe that is front page news after all.
